Children's Safeguarding

Our commitment

The welfare of every child who trains with Gino's Academy comes before everything else - before development, before results, before anything. Every session is planned and run so that young players are safe, supported and enjoying their football in a positive, inclusive environment where every child is treated with respect, whatever their ability, background or needs.

Coaching and checks

• All coaching is delivered with an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check in place.
• First-aid provision is in place at every session.
• Sessions are run in line with FA safeguarding guidance for working with children in football.

Parents and guardians

• All bookings must be made by a parent or guardian - never by the child directly.
• Parents and guardians are always welcome to stay and watch any session, including 1-to-1 coaching, and we encourage it.
• A parent or guardian must remain contactable for the full duration of every session.
• Drop-off and pick-up arrangements are agreed when you book, and players are only released to the agreed adult.

During sessions

• 1-to-1 sessions always take place at open venues, in view of parents and other pitch users - never behind closed doors.
• Group sizes are capped so every player can be properly supervised.
• Please tell us about any medical conditions, allergies or additional needs when booking so sessions can be planned safely around them.
• Sessions are adjusted or rearranged if weather or pitch conditions make training unsafe.

Photography and social media

• No photos or videos of any player are shared on the academy's social media without written consent from a parent or guardian.
• Consent can be withdrawn at any time with a single message, and existing posts will be taken down on request.

Raising a concern

If you have any concern about a child's welfare at the academy - however small it seems - raise it directly with Josh via @ginosacademy and it will be treated seriously and in confidence.
